Bird of the Year 2026 Magnet selection, chosen by Forest & Bird.

To celebrate the annual NZ Forest & Bird 'Bird of the Year' competition, we've selected 10 birds from previous winners and hopefuls to collect, featuring all your favourites.

With more than 80% of our native birds in trouble, all support counts.

We donate 5% of all online sales to Forest & Bird as part of our annual donation.

The wood collection is made from FSC sustainable plywood.  Created from original art by Cathy Hansby.  The artwork is beautifully printed directly onto the wood.

The magnets can be applied to any metal surface, like lockers, dishwashers or fridges.

The bird name is engraved on the back, and the size is 7 x 10cm each.

There's 10 Bird of the Year designs to choose from, take your pick!

Great cards

Great cards. Very New Zealand and penguins perfectly fit that awkward Southern hemisphere dilemma of stereo typical Dickensian White Christmas in the summer!

Gorgeous present.

My mum has been going bush to spot kokako but with no luck. So I decided to buy her this cushion cover for mothers day so she could spot them everyday. She now has it on her bed and loves it.

Kakapo Wall Panel

I really enjoy seeing this cheeky little fellow peering at me from my kitchen wall. Modern design, easy to hang and not likely to break (or bash anyone on the head) in an earthquake!
