Bold and beautiful, these critically endangered tigers are the smallest of their species. Native to the island of Sumatra in Indonesia, these tigers are the last of their kind in this region with less than 400 left in the wild.
They’re apex predators, and play a vital role in maintaining balance in their ecosystem, between prey animals and forest vegetation.
Their stripes are camouflaged in the shadows and leaves of their forest habitat, as they quietly stalk their prey.
The greatest threats to Sumatran Tigers are from poaching and habitat loss from forest clearing.
